## What you'll explore

- **Live digital twin in action:** an interactive [3D model of The Corner](https://issdev.delta.ncsu.edu/courses/prt250/the-corner-demo/) that links spatial scans with live data on occupancy, microclimate and site utilities.
- **Smart grounds and resource optimization:** soil moisture, local weather and energy monitoring that help grounds and facilities teams automate irrigation and cut utility costs.
- **Capacity and event scenario modeling:** using a digital twin to plan crowd flow, emergency access, vendor placement and space use before an event.
- **Hands-on sensor architecture:** talk with hardware engineers about deployment, low-power sensor networks and data integration for parks, greenways and civic plazas.
- **Cross-sector networking:** meet local government officials, parks and recreation administrators, university researchers and smart city technologists.

## About the project

The digital twin of The Corner combines a detailed 3D model with live sensor data on weather, occupancy, energy use and soil moisture. It was built through an NC State DELTA Exploratory Grant led by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, and is used in teaching facilities management. Varidx and See Insights donated and installed the connected sensors.
