Stormwater Management
Heavier than normal rainfall, snow or flooding can cause excessive water to
accumulate into ditches and sewers. This water carries with it: bacteria,
debris, eroded soil, pollutants and chemicals, and carries them to lakes,
rivers, and wetlands. Stormwater management is an effort to reduce this
runoff of water into the streets and improve the quality of water, as defined by
the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Stormwater management
is an important part of towns and cities administration due to the fact that
urban developments give rise to impervious surfaces.
Along with these long term implications of water pollution, the stormwater
management department is tasked with the critical infrastructure disruption
risk mitigation and safety of residents during flooding. Timely prediction of
possible damage and notification to the town can help reduce damage, saving
lives.

Schools are out and Interns are in!
Varidx welcomed a handful of interns in June. We have a varied mix of college
and high schools students contributing to the solutions and product
development. These future engineers, computer scientists and entrepreneurs
sought out Varidx for an introduction to the master integrator approach to all
different kinds of smart and connected technology. The unique value
